YOUR DUTIES:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to manage the operations of the Superabsorber production plant. Responsible for all aspects of the production of superabsorbent polymers, including implementation of safety, environmental and production operational protocols, budgeting of expenses, insuring product quality, required reporting & record keeping, the scheduling of personnel and equipment
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ensuring efficient production processes within a manufacturing facility. The Production Manager will be responsible for leading a team, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing production workflows. These are your tasks:
- Supervises all production activities at the Garyville plant to meet customer quality and quantity requirements while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Monitors expenditures against an annual operating budget and responsible for establishing control over expenditures. Develop and maintain plant recipes and up to date Bill of Materials for all current products. Closely monitors rework activities and process yield.
- Directs and manages the Production Engineers, Production Specialist, Production Supervisor and Shift Supervisors. Insures that production planning and production issues are communicated both internally and externally. Participate in US Production Planning, S&OP and Global information exchanges.
- Support the plant management systems for Quality, Safety, Hygiene, Environmental, continuous improvement. Maintain and control department specific documentation and training requirements. Produce required production reports and KPIs. Chair the Site Management Daily Update meeting Serve as final Operations Approver for MOCs and ENotes.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in engineering with supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong process technology background that understand technical information to provide feedback and direction to a team.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Applications, SAP and DCS.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8 minimum experience working within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Experience in managing personnel and complex activities with a strong analytical sense.
- superabsorbent production and/or research or similar competence. Must be able to understand and integrate technical and non-technical aspects of a dry polymer production processes and equipment. Also requires the ability to direct, train and motivate personnel assigned to dry polymer production operations.
