Data protection information on our data processing pursuant to Articles 13, 14 and 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation

Below we inform you in accordance with Articles 13 and 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) about how we process your personal data when you use our Website.

    1. Each time you call up our Website, our web server automatically collects your IP address, country, browser type and language, operating system, time of access and the previously visited website. We need this data to deliver the Website, to ensure its functionality and security (e.g. attack detection) and to optimise it.

      The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in a secure, functioning Website. Where you inform yourself about our products, Art. 6 (1) b GDPR applies in addition.

    2. We use technically necessary cookies to make certain functions of the Website available. We obtain your consent to further cookies and tools, e.g. for analysing the use of the Website, via the Consent Manager "UserCentrics" of Usercentrics GmbH, Sendlinger Straße 7, 80331 Munich, Germany. For this purpose, UserCentrics stores your decision as well as usage data such as IP address, time, browser and operating system (Privacy Policy of Usercentrics).

      The legal bases are Art. 6 (1) c GDPR (obligation to obtain and document consent) and Art. 6 (1) f GDPR for consent management, and your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) a GDPR for analysis and tracking.

    3. If you contact us via a form, e-mail or chat, we process your name, your e-mail address and any further details from your message in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR, additionally Art. 6 (1) b GDPR for enquiries aimed at concluding a contract and Art. 6 (1) c GDPR when you exercise your rights as a data subject.

    4. With your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR), we use your e-mail address and any voluntary details for newsletters, product information, downloads, event invitations and surveys. If you have provided your e-mail address when purchasing goods or services, we send you advertising for our own similar offers on the basis of Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

    5. Our Website contains a link to our LinkedIn page. Data is only transferred to LinkedIn once you click on the link. The processing on LinkedIn is subject to its privacy policy.

    6. We also process your data in order to assert or defend legal claims and to prevent or investigate criminal offences (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR) as well as to comply with statutory retention obligations, in particular under commercial and tax law (Art. 6 (1) c GDPR).

Your data is only received by our employees and, where necessary, by affiliated companies within our group, IT service providers, agencies, logistics service providers, legal advisors and public authorities where we are legally obliged to do so. Service providers acting as processors are bound by our instructions. In the event of a sale of the business or a merger, data may be transferred to the acquirer (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).

    Data is transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA, including the USA, in particular when cookies and tools are used to which you have consented, and in the case of service providers and companies of our group. Such transfers are based on EU standard contractual clauses, Binding Corporate Rules or an adequacy decision of the EU Commission. Nevertheless, government agencies in third countries (e.g. under the US Cloud Act) may access your data; your consent to cookies therefore also covers the transfer to third countries. Our data protection officer will be happy to provide further information.

  4. We delete data from a purely informational visit to the Website after your visit ends; the retention period of individual cookies can be found in UserCentrics. We store data from enquiries until your enquiry has been dealt with, and data for newsletters and advertising until you withdraw your consent. After that, we retain data until any claims become time-barred (usually one to three years, up to 30 years) and for the duration of statutory retention periods (Sections 238, 257 German Commercial Code (HGB), Section 147 German Fiscal Code (AO), two to ten years).

  5. You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. Please send your requests to the address above or to our data protection officer.

    You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestr. 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, poststelle@ldi.nrw.de.

    You are not obliged to provide us with data. Without this data, however, we cannot display the Website, answer enquiries or send newsletters. No profiling or automated decision-making pursuant to Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

    Right to object pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR

    You may object at any time to the processing of your data based on Art. 6 (1) e or f GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves legal claims.

    You may object to processing for direct marketing purposes at any time without giving reasons. The objection can be made without any formalities and should be addressed to the address above.
